Audit Service Sierra Leone

The Audit Service is looking for individuals from specialized fields such as civil engineering and environmental science to join its Performance Audit team. These individuals will provide expert assessment, analysis and recommendations in a performance audit environment, where they will evaluate government programs and systems to assess how well they achieve economy, efficiency and effectiveness.

We therefore seek applications from suitably qualified Sierra Leoneans for the position of:

Senior Engineer  

·         Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.

·         Experience: Five years’ minimum experience in civil or related engineering.

·         Possession of a professional certification would be an added advantage.

Knowledge

·         Proficiency in Microsoft Applications - Excel, PowerPoint and Word

Skills and Ability

·         Meticulous with attention to detail.

·         Excellent oral and writing skills.

·         Good analytical skills.

·         Good critical thinking skills.

· Sound professional judgement

·         Should be able to produce quality work under pressure.

·         Skilled at evaluating systems of controls and determining appropriate testing strategies.

·         Ability to conduct research.

·         Must be capable of presenting results to senior management

The Senior Engineer works under the direct supervision of the Principal Auditor – Performance Audit and is required to lead junior members of the audit team in carrying out performance audits of various ministries, departments, and other government entities. He/she will provide expert assessment, analysis, and recommendations as they evaluate government programs and systems, to assess how well they achieve economy, efficiency, and effectiveness.
